Everyone loves strawberries so join us for our Strawberry Festival!
The days will be filled with picking strawberries, eating strawberry themed food, learning about strawberries, a craft show, jam making class, recipe contest, mini golf, giant slide, wagon rides and so much more!
Jam Contest
Welcome to our Strawberry Jam Contest! We’re thrilled to have you showcase your jam-making skills. Please read the following rules carefully to ensure a fair and enjoyable competition for everyone. Eligibility •Amateur Status: The contest is open to amateur jam makers only. Professional chefs and those who sell their jams commercially are not eligible to participate. Entry Guidelines •Strawberry Base: The primary ingredient of the jam, jelly or preserve must be strawberries. •Original Recipe: All entries must be an original recipe created by the participant. •Quantity: Each participant must submit 2 jars of jam, each containing no less than 4 ounces. •Labeling: Jars should be clearly labeled with the participant's name, contact information, and the name of the jam. Submission Details •Deadline: All entries must be submitted by June 20th, 2026 at 2:30pm. •Location: Submissions should be delivered to Govin’s Farm at N6134 670th Street, Menomonie, WI during business hours. Judging Criteria •Taste: Flavor balance and use of strawberries will be heavily weighted. •Texture: Consistency and spread ability of the jam. •Appearance: Overall visual appeal and presentation of the jam. •Creativity: Innovative use of ingredients and unique flavor combinations. •Judging will take place at 2 pm on Sunday June 21, 2026 Prizes •First Place: $100 worth of Govin’s Strawberries. •Second Place: $50 worth of Govin’s Strawberries. Additional Rules •Preservation Method: Jams must be preserved using traditional canning methods to ensure safety and quality, this includes freezer Jams. •Disqualification: Failure to adhere to any of the rules may result in disqualification. •Judges' Decision: All decisions made by the judging panel are final and cannot be contested. Recipe Contest
Welcome to our exciting Strawberry Recipe Contest! We’re thrilled to see your creativity and culinary skills in action. To ensure a fair and fun competition, please follow the rules outlined below for each category: Breads, Salads, Desserts, Entrees, and Other. We encourage participants of all skill levels to join and share their strawberry-inspired creations. General Rules 1.Eligibility: Open to all ages and culinary skill levels. Participants must register by June 18, 2026 at 5pm. 2.Originality: Recipes must be original creations and not previously published or submitted in any other contests. 3.Ingredient Requirements: Strawberries must be a key ingredient in each recipe. Fresh, frozen, or dried strawberries are acceptable. 4.Submission Deadline: All recipes must be submitted by June 18, 2026 at 8pm to jgovin@govinsfarm.com. 5.Recipe Format: Each recipe submission should include: oRecipe title oList of ingredients with exact measurements oDetailed preparation instructions oEstimated preparation and cooking time oNumber of servings oTell us if we can post your name on social media if you are the winner. 6.Submission Format: The finished product must be submitted in person to Govin’s Farm by noon on June 21, 2026. 7.Judging Criteria: Submissions will be judged based on creativity, taste, presentation, and originality. Judging will take place on June 21 at 2pm 8.Prizes: One overall winner will be picked from the combined categories. Winner will receive $100 in Strawberries. 9.Winners: A picture of the winning items will be posted on social media with the recipe and your name. It you do not want your name posted please let us know when submitting your recipe. Category-Specific Rules Breads •Recipes can include any type of bread, such as loaves, muffins, scones, or rolls. •Strawberries should be incorporated into the dough or as a filling/topping. Salads •Salads can be fruit-based, vegetable-based, or a combination. •Use fresh strawberries as a main component of the salad. Desserts •Desserts can include cakes, pies, tarts, or any sweet treat. •Strawberries should play a prominent role in flavor and presentation. Entrees •Entrees should be substantial dishes that could serve as a main course. •Consider integrating strawberries into sauces, glazes, or stuffing. Other •This category is for any innovative use of strawberries that doesn’t fit into the other categories. •Examples include beverages or unique culinary creations. •No Jam, Jelly or Preserves allowed, these would be on our Jam Contest. Submission Process •Submit your recipe to jgovin@govinsfarm.com •Include your name, contact information, and any relevant background about your recipe or inspiration, and if you want your name posted on social media if you win.
